Cordoba 2024: Figures, Art, and Future.

Córdoba is a land of bullfighters. Of bullfighters and Caliphs. Up to five bullfighters have given this land that have achieved such a rating from the fans of this city (Guerrita, Lagartijo, Machaquito, Manolete and El Cordobés). First through the old and missed Coso de los Tejares (1846 – 1965) and later in the current one, precisely called Los Califas, the Cordoban bullfighting has shown its credentials under the scrutiny of its countrymen.

The Fair of the Virgin of Health 2024 ‘Feria de la Virgen de la Salud’ revolves around the latest promise that the land has given: Manuel Román. A novice bullfighter with exquisite forms, he bets on classic bullfighting and everything he interprets in front of the animals is presided over by harmony and slowness. For this reason, he has caught the attention of fans, not only from the region but from all places without exception where good bullfighting is savored.

THE TWO EVENINGS THAT THE BULLFIGHTER 'ROMÁN' PERFORMS

Manuel Román is announced two afternoons this May in Córdoba. The first, in the event that opens the fair, on Saturday, May 11, hand in hand with the novice bullfighter who has revolutionized the ranking in recent months and the bullfighting gossip in recent seasons: Marco Pérez. Two novice bullfighters who bring youth and freshness, with different and complementary concepts, and with a prosperous future. They also face six bulls from Jandilla, one of the most distinguished ranches in the brave field.

Manuel Román returns to dress in lights in front of his countrymen a week later, on Saturday, May 18, in a mixed event full of arguments, as it is headed by the rejoneador Diego Ventura, the leading figure of this art, who will fight two specimens of Los Espartales, and José Antonio Morante de la Puebla, the most genuine artist of this century, who will account for two bulls from Román Sorando. Manuel Román will close the line-up and complete his participation in the current fair by fighting two bulls from El Parralejo.

THE BULLFIGHT OF SUNDAY 19 MAY

The last event, scheduled on Sunday, May 19, is a bullfight of great stature, as befits a fair of this rank. José María Manzanares, a bullfighter in full maturity, who last year celebrated his twentieth anniversary of alternative, opens the square, and it is completed by Andrés Roca Rey, the leading figure of current bullfighting, the bullfighter who brings more people to the squares and generates more opinions, and Juan Ortega, one of the most topical bullfighters, who is having an exceptional season. The bulls chosen for the occasion are also guaranteed, as they belong to the Domingo Hernández brand.

Cordoba is also a city to enjoy. Excellently communicated, both by road and by its extensive railway network, it boasts an enviable heritage.
